Music School and Choir

launching Saturday February 24th at the Bonus Room, Factory 8, Upton Road, Southville BS3 1QZ

10.15-11  - Musicianship (Reception Year to Year 3)

11-11.15 - Break

11.15-12 - Choir (age 4-8)

Open to children from Reception to Year 3, our Music School will combine musicianship activities including drumming (with leading percussionist Catherine Ring), pitch, rhythm, dynamics and pulse, and music theory sessions. The Blackbird curriculum contains over fifty specially-commissioned songs and is delivered by professional musicians.  There are 5 levels which the children can work through, detailed in our section Music Foundation Classes. The musicianship session will be followed by our new choir, for children aged 4-8, led by Douglas Watts (Bristol Show Choir) and Helen Reid (Blackbird EYM Founder, BBC Young Musician of the Year finalist).

The majority of children’s choirs in Bristol take children from age 7+, so this is an exciting new venture that gives younger children the opportunity to take part in communal singing.

The price is £15 for the whole morning (musicianship session, snack/drink and choir) or £6 for choir only. Booking will open at the start of February at
